What the balances on an account mean

Cleared is what your bank shows. Working balance also counts what you entered that the bank has not shown yet. Not yet due is the part dated in the future.

Cleared, uncleared and working

Cleared is money your bank has seen. Uncleared is what you entered that the bank has not shown yet, like a card payment still pending or a cheque not yet cashed. Working balance is the two together: what you really have.

ExampleYour savings account
  1. Your bank shows ₹40,000

    Cleared
    ₹40,000
    Uncleared
    ₹0
    Working balance
    ₹40,000
  2. You pay ₹1,200 by card, still pending

    Cleared
    ₹40,000
    Uncleared
    −₹1,200
    Working balance
    ₹38,800
  3. The bank shows the payment, so you tick it

    Cleared
    ₹38,800
    Uncleared
    ₹0
    Working balance
    ₹38,800

The dot beside each transaction shows which it is. Click it to tick a transaction off when your bank shows it.

Not yet due

A transaction dated in the future, like a cheque you have written for next week, counts in the working balance straight away, because that money is already promised. Not yet due shows how much of the working balance that is.

When it does not match your bank

Working balance is lower than my bank's
Look at Uncleared and Not yet due. That money is already promised, even though your bank has not taken it yet.
