Paying the card bill
Record the payment as a transfer from your bank to the card. It uses the money set aside in the card's payment category.
Recording the payment
When you pay the credit card bill
- Open the bank account the money left from and press Add transaction. On a phone, press Add and choose that account.
- Choose I spent, and enter the amount you paid.
- In Payee, choose the card. Your own accounts are listed under Transfer to.
- Press Save.
A transfer between two on budget accounts needs no category. The payment lowers what the card owes, and uses up the money in its payment category.
What is due, and when
The Cards page shows each card's bill: what is Left to pay, what you have Set aside for it, and what you have spent since the last bill (Unbilled).
For this, Ahead needs the card's bill day and due day. Press Add its days on the Cards page, or edit the card from Accounts.
If Set aside is less than the bill
Usually the card owed money from before you started using Ahead. Assign the difference to the card's payment category on the Budget screen. Why this happens.
The Cards page also has Credit card fees & charges, which shows with worked sums what paying late, or paying only the minimum, would cost.
