Sharing your budget with family

Up to four people can share one budget. The owner invites them from Settings → Household and chooses what each can do: Owner, Partner or Viewer.

Inviting someone

You can invite your husband or wife, a parent, or anyone else who helps with the family's money.

In Settings

  1. Open Settings → Household.
  2. Under People, press Invite someone.
  3. Enter Their email, and under What they may do choose Partner or Viewer.
  4. Press Send the invitation.

They get an email with a link. The link works once, only for that email address, and stops working after 14 days. Until they join, they are listed under Invited, not yet joined, where you can press Withdraw.

What each person can do

Owner: everything, and only an owner can invite people, rename the household or manage billing.

Partner: budgets and adds transactions exactly as you do. Use this for a husband or wife who manages the money with you.

Viewer: sees everything and changes nothing. This is read-only access. They see View only next to the household's name. A viewer can still download all the data from Settings → Household.

An owner can change someone's role at any time, from the list under People. To make someone a second owner, invite them first, then change their role to Owner there.

When they join

They open the link in the email and create their own account, with their own password. Then they see the same budget, accounts and transactions as you.

Each person has their own settings for how figures look, such as lakh grouping or the date format. Those settings.

Removing someone, or leaving

An owner can remove anyone from the list under People, with Remove them. Anyone can leave with Leave this household.

The last owner cannot leave or make themselves a partner. Make someone else an owner first.
