Adding a spend or income
Record each spend with the category it comes out of. Income with no category goes to Left to assign; money coming back to a category is a refund.
Where to add it
On a computer, open the account from the list on the left and press Add transaction. On a phone, press Add in the middle of the bottom bar.
A spend
Recording a spend
- Choose I spent, and enter the Amount.
- Choose the Account it was paid from, the Payee, and the Category it comes out of.
- Press Save.
The category's Available goes down by the amount. Every spend needs a category, because the money has to come out of one.
Income, and refunds
For income, choose I received, enter the amount and the account it came into, and leave the category empty. It goes to Left to assign, ready to be put in a category.
Money coming back, such as a refund from a shop, is different. Choose I received and pick the category it was spent from. It goes back into that category, not to Left to assign.
