Transactions that repeat, like rent or a SIP
When you add a transaction, set it to repeat. Ahead adds it on its day each time, even if you do not open the app.
Setting one up
When you add the transaction
- Add it as usual: payee, amount and category.
- Open the Date field. Under Repeat, choose how often: weekly, every two weeks, monthly, every three months or yearly.
- If it stops on a known date, like the end of a rent agreement, set Until.
- Save. This is the first one. Ahead adds the rest on their dates.
Repeat is offered when you add a new transaction. Changing one past transaction never changes the ones still to come.
What happens next
Above the account's transactions, the Repeating band shows what repeats and when the next one is. Open it to see each one with its next dates.
On its day, Ahead adds the transaction to the account by itself. Rent on the 31st stays on the 31st: in a shorter month it lands on the last day, and goes back to the 31st the month after.
Changing, skipping or stopping
Open the ⋯ beside it in the Repeating band.
- The rent went up
- Press Edit and change the amount. You can also change how often, the next date and when it ends. Rows it already added stay as they were.
- I want to skip the next one
- Press Skip next. It shows the date it will skip before you press.
- It has ended
- Press Stop repeating. Transactions it already added stay in your account.
- It should come from another account
- Stop it, and add a new one in the right account. A repeat cannot move between accounts, so its history stays in one place.

- Runway: when your balance is lowestRunway shows your balance for the rest of this month and all of next month, and the day it is lowest. Can I afford it? shows what a purchase would do to that day.
- Setting a target for a categoryA target says what a category needs: an amount every month, an amount to keep in it, or a sum saved by a date. The Budget then shows what it still needs.
